Thank you for helping injured Elvis
In this day and age of technology and distance, I would like to take the time to thank the wonderful woman in the black Mazda who came to help when my dog got hit by a car on West Washington St. She said she drove by and saw him with me on the side of the road. She was wonderful with giving us the number of an emergency vet for my daughter to call as we comforted him. She was an angel.
I would like to think that the person who hit my dog didn't realize that they did. If you are the one that hit my dog, he will be OK, he has broken bones and a concussion.
I would ask not that you offer to pay the vet bill, but if you ever see an animal hurt on the road, stop and offer assistance, it meant the world to us in a crisis moment that the woman stopped and helped.
God bless her and the staff at Town and Country Animal Hospital for their quick work, compassion, education and assistance with Elvis.

Disappointed at sharp left turn
I have been disappointed at the sharp left turn of your page. Since many past letters have been conservative in nature, limiting writers to once a month is a good way of stifling those ideas. The First Amendment doesn't guarantee us freedom of speech only once a month. Requiring a phone number is also a good way to intimidate writers.
I may be wrong, but I think you have featured Luckovich cartoons the last two Sundays. In the past, Gorrell was used. Luckovich is very far left and Gorell is middle right. If you are going to be “fair and balanced”, then do it. I would like to remind you of two things. First, your job is to inform us, not indoctrinate us. Second, you might want to look at the 2012 Presidential vote in Limestone Country to get a better idea of you reader base. We are not left-wing loons.
