Saturday Market response appreciated

Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Athens Saturday Market Committee, I would like to thank you, our community, for your enthusiastic response to our inaugural market season.

We never could have imagined, in all those weeks and months of planning, what a wonderful event Saturday morning at the Pavilion on Green Street could be. Our farmers and vendors regularly tell us that the Athens market is their favorite.

We see many of you almost every week. What we originally scheduled as a June-August market is now set to operate through the month of September, with a few markets to be scheduled in the fall.

If you already are a market regular, I’ll see you Saturday; if you’ve been meaning to get down to the Pavilion to see what’s happening there, you still have time to check out our fruits, vegetables, goat cheese, baked goods (even gluten-free), flowers, eggs, herbs, plants, honey, hummus, relish, canned goods, coffee, teas, and even more.

Like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/AthensSaturdayMarket or check us out at www.athenssaturdaymarket.com.

Sincerely,

Laurie Glenn, chairwoman
