President needs our support

Dear Editor:

Our preamble to the Constitution states:

“We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.”

It was us, “we the people.” It was for us, by us and it will be through us that change happens.

We now have a president that represents the most democratic form of government. We have a more than qualified minority that is educated and poised enough to lead black, white, Asian and others. He is poised to hear and make a difference. But he cannot do it without us.

It is still “we the people” who essentially make the difference. And if we continue to give up, or even worse, work against him, we hurt ourselves. He needs us caring and he needs our prayers.

Do not give up. Let’s make a difference to our world while we can still be heard, “we the people.”

Sincerely,

Theresa Brown

Thank you to charity bowlers

Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Spina Bifida Association, we would like to thank everyone who came and bowled and gave there time during the Spina Bifida Bowl-a-Thon.

We also want to thank those who gave monetary donations and the businesses that gave items for the silent auction.

God bless.

Sincerely,

Kathy Long of Lester

Kierstynn Turner of Elkmont
