A Decatur man died early Wednesday in a one-vehicle accident near Calhoun Community College, a state trooper said.
Corey Kennedy, 26, 1207 York Place S.W., Decatur, was traveling south when he wrecked at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, according to reports.
The trooper said Kennedy was on his way home from work at Steelcase. Records show he was alone in his 1998 Acura and was not wearing a seat belt when his car went out of control and flipped.
Limestone County Coroner Mike West said Kennedy was dead on the scene.
“He was headed toward Decatur when he lost control and crossed the median,” West said. “He was ejected from his vehicle onto the pavement of the northbound lane and his car ended up in the yard of Calhoun College in the mid-campus area.”
West said Sharpley Funeral Home in Decatur is in charge of arrangements.
