Two West Limestone High School students injured early Tuesday in a one-vehicle wreck on their way to school remain hospitalized.
A Huntsville Hospital spokeswoman said Wednesday that Hannah Dildine, an eighth grader, is listed in serious condition in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Her sister, Chasity Dildine, a junior, is listed in fair condition in a regular room.
West Limestone Principal Charlotte Craig said the Dildines are members of the varsity softball team.
School officials said Chasity Dildine was driving the vehicle and apparently lost control, causing it to flip on its side on Cottonbelt Road, south of the school.
The wreck occurred shortly before 8 a.m.
The younger sister was airlifted from the scene by Medflight helicopter. Chasity Dildine was taken by ambulance to Athens-Limestone Hospital and later transported to Huntsville Hospital.
