County arrests
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Wednesday, some of which may be the result of grand jury indictments:
• Kevin Leroy Barnes, 36, 798 Aubrey Drive, Florence, attempted third-degree theft
• Neil Edward Borucki, 24, 16904 Linton Road, Athens, driving under the influence of alcohol
• Michael Wade Hall, 35, 11679 Neely Road, Toney, harassment
• Michael Barrett Irons, 38, 520 Imperial Drive, Florence, probation revocation (DUI)
• Tracy Len Johnson, 40, 23731 Toone Road, Elkmont, menacing
• Guy Danny Mayberry Jr., 41, 38449 Ardmore Ridge Road, Ardmore, Tenn., negotiating worthless negotiable instrument and third-degree theft of property
• Phillip McKinley Stay, 27, 1404 S. Houston St., Athens, third-degree burglary
• Melissa Diane Stephenson, 47, 14 County Road 531, Moulton, third-degree theft
City thefts
The Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Wednesday:
• $40 cash, wallet and Alabama ID card, total value $60, stolen Tuesday from 412 W. Elm St.
• Canon Sure Shot digital camera, valued at $500, stolen, and $830 in damages to window screen and garage door during Tuesday burglary at 16298 Oakdale Road.
County thefts
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following thefts Wednesday:
• Computer desk, vanity, air-conditioner and iron, total value $310, stolen Monday from a home in the 30000 block of Lester Road.
• Copper, no value given, and two metal fence posts valued at $12, stolen between Friday and Sunday from U.S. 72 West near Davis Road.
• Lawn mower and Chevy truck, total value $1,500, stolen between March 2007 and this month from the 13000 block of Hickory Hills Road.
Robbery
At about 1:10 a.m. Wednesday a black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt walked into the BP station at Cloverleaf Drive and U.S. 72 in Athens, walked to the back of the store, picked up a pack of gum and returned to the checkout counter. The suspect gave the clerk a dollar bill and asked for his change in dimes. While the clerk was getting the change, the suspect reached across the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of $10 bills from the cash drawer. The suspect left the store and fled in a four-door gold car headed east on U.S. 72.
Wrecks
• Three-vehicle wreck on Nuclear Plant Road, seven miles west of Athens, 6:15 a.m. Tuesday injured Robert Linn, 46, Athens, who was wearing a seat belt, and Joan Dangerfield, 51, Decatur, who was wearing a seat belt.
Hospital report
Athens-Limestone Hospital reported no admissions and no discharges Wednesday.
