An Athens man accused of trying to bribe an Athens Police officer after being pulled over for allegedly driving under the influence Monday apparently gave officials a false name.
Tomas Ajualip was charged DUI, bribery of a public servant and forgery, said Athens Police Capt. Marty Bruce.
It was determined yesterday that Ajualip used the name Hector Matos when he was arrested Monday night, Bruce said.
The additional charge of forgery was added after his real name was determined, Bruce said.
Ajualip was being held in the Limestone County Jail on a $3,500 bond.
