Man charged with sending ‘private parts’ photo to teen

A Harvest man was arrested Wednesday after the father of a 13-year-old girl allegedly found a photo of the man’s genitalia on his daughter’s cellular telephone.

Cody Layne Sims, 22, of 196 El Camino Drive was charged with enticing a child and transmitting obscene material, said Limestone County Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt.

“We received a complaint July 10 after the father became suspicious of messages his daughter might be receiving and checked her cell phone,” McNatt said. “He found a photo showing a man’s private area.”

The telephone also contained a message from Sims asking the girl if she “wanted to meet him,” McNatt said.

Detective Leslie Ramsey investigated the case and made the arrest, he said.
