TVA approves 20% hike Average Athens bill to increase $21 per month From staff and wire reportsTVA is anticipating flat growth in power sales next year, a reflection of the national economy. A $2 billion capital budget next year includes more than $1 billion to build, buy or expand generating sources, including the continued construction of a second reactor at the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant in Tennessee — the only reactor construction project under way in the United States. It also includes $232 million for clean-air improvements at its coal-fired power plants.
Another $99 million next year is earmarked for energy efficiency and conservation programs.
