Three people have been arrested and charged with trying to fill a fake prescription at Kmart pharmacy, Athens Police said.
Connie Renee White, 33, of 22268 Sugar Way, Elkmont, was charged Tuesday with attempting to commit a controlled substance crime, records show. She is accused of trying to pick up a fake prescription for Lortab, Soma and Xanax that had been called in to the pharmacy, said Capt. Marty Bruce.
A pharmacy employee called the doctor and learned the prescription was fake and then called police, Bruce said. Detective Johnny Morell arrested White as she was attempting to pick up the medication. She was transferred to the Limestone County Jail and released after posting a $5,000 bond.
Morrell discovered a couple waiting in the parking lot for White and they also were arrested, Bruce said.
Bradley Joe Austelle, 36, and Tammy Clem Austelle, 39, both of 20064 Townsend Ford Road, Lot 23, also were charged with attempting to commit a controlled substance crime, records show.
They are accused of using a fake prescription Friday to obtain Lortab, Soma and Coreg.
They were transferred to the Limestone County Jail and released on $5,000 bond each.
