Woman facing numerous bad check charges
An Athens woman is facing 25 counts of issuing bad checks, records show.
Limestone County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Anita Gayle Roberts, 28, of 602 Woodridge Drive, Apt. 602, on Saturday and charged her with 25 counts of negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument, according to an arrest report.
She was being held Monday afternoon in the Limestone County Jail; bond is set at $12,500, a jailer said.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests Monday:
• James William Malone, 35, of 17107 Matthew Way, Apt. 32, Athens, third-degree domestic violence (third-degree assault)
• Michael Lacy Peterson, 31, of 2334 Levert Ave., Athens, driving under the influence and carrying a pistol without a permit
• Casey Cole White, 25, of 6565 Bailey Road, Anderson, resisting arrest
• Pamela Simms Allen, 51, of 20905 Allen Road, Athens, two counts of harassment
• Connie Boyd Aycock, 51, of 704 N. Marion St., Athens, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication
• Eric Graham Boyd, no age or address available, DUI

• Elizabeth Sue Barron, 28, of 27225 Cedar Hill Road, Ardmore, third-degree theft of property
• Wanda Dale Barron, 51, of 27225 Cedar Hill Road, Ardmore, theft of property
• Mark A. Deats, 39, 1407 Malone St., Athens, public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance
• Thomas Andrew Murphy, 23, of 500 Chandler St., Athens, driving under the influence and carrying a pistol without a permit
• Kelly Frank Rhodes, 24, of 22561 Piney Chapel Road, Athens, disorderly conduct
• Justin Matthew Smith, 18, of 94 County Road 324, Florence, possession of marijuana
• Cody Ryan Ezell, 18, of 7309 Parkwood St., Florence, driving under the influence of marijuana
• Bonifacio Lorenzo, 18, of 418 Cloverleaf Drive, Athens, driving under the influence (under 21)

City thefts
The Athens Police Department reported the following thefts Monday:
• Five shotguns valued at $2,800, stolen between Oct. 5 and Friday from 15250 Line Road
• Handmade show saddle valued at $2,500 stolen between Sept. 7-15 during burglary at 1003 Elkton St.
• Three custom silk curtains valued at $2,020 damaged Saturday or Sunday during criminal mischief at 23713 Piney Creek Drive
• Miscellaneous items valued at $1,000 damaged Monday during criminal mischief at 423 Rogers St.
• Two locks, three plate covers and one combination lock and plate valued at $230 damaged Thursday or Friday during criminal mischief at 411 S. Jefferson St.
• Chocolate Labrador valued at $79 stolen Thursday from the Athens-Limestone Humane Society
• Watch, tool set, tire gauge and miscellaneous items, total value $63, stolen Friday from 1011 U.S. 72 East
• Blue jeans and shirt valued at $38 stolen Saturday from 1011 U.S. 72 East
• $20 in cash stolen Saturday from vehicle at 608 S. Jefferson St.
• Two CDs valued at about $13 stolen Friday from 1011 U.S. 72 East

Wrecks
• Beverly Jan Reese, 55, of Elkmont was injured at 8:54 a.m. Friday in a one-vehicle accident on U.S 31 in Athens, between East Hobbs and Ryan streets, according to Athens Police. She was treated at Athens-Limestone Hospital and released.
• Daniel Blake McNutt, 20, of Athens and Brenda Wiggins Jones, 46, of Decatur were injured at 4:37 p.m. Saturday in a two-vehicle accident U.S. 72 in Athens, near the intersection of Jefferson Street, according to Athens Police. They were treated at Athens-Limestone Hospital and released.

Hospital report
Athens-Limestone Hospital reported one admission and no discharges Monday.
Admitted was Kathy Swanner.
