There is a time to stand by your man.

There is a time to stand down.

A Limestone County wife made the first choice Tuesday and was arrested for allegedly trying to prevent a Limestone County Sheriff’s deputy from arresting her husband, an official said.

Tonya Ellen Farmer, 38, of 210 Gordon Drive, was charged with resisting arrest and second-degree hindering prosecution, records show. She was released from the Limestone County Jail after posting $2,000.

“She tried to prevent the arrest of her husband on a warrant, “ said Limestone County Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt. “She would not let the deputy in to look for him, and when he (the deputy) entered the house, she called to him (her husband) to run.”

Her husband, Jeffery Scott Farmer, 38, was arrested and charged with violating terms of probation on a conviction for driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance, records show.

“When they arrested him, they recovered a plastic Baggie with white powder believed to be cocaine,” McNatt said.

Farmer was in the Limestone County Jail in lieu of posting $5,000.
