A Limestone County couple was arrested Wednesday night following a drug bust on Drawbaugh Road, an official said.
Michael Shannon Thomas, 40, of 29440 Easter Ferry Road, Lester, and Jada Michelle Legg, 38, of 24071 Drawbaugh Road, were arrested following a 7 p.m. bust and each charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, said Limestone County Sheriff’s Lt. Lance Royals.
“We had received a number of complaints about them selling marijuana – mainly Michael,” Royals said.
The couple was arrested after an informant made a buy, said Sheriff Mike Blakely.
“Me and Investigator Josh McLaughlin obtained a search warrant and confiscated a 1/4 pound of marijuana about $600 cash and scales.”
Royals said the marijuana counts resulted from the drug sales and the paraphernalia charge resulted from the scales used to weigh the drug.
Although Thomas lists his address as 29440 Easter Ferry Road, he stays with Legg at her home, Royals said.
When Royals and McLaughlin arrived at the scene, they found Thomas outside the home with two juveniles and Legg inside the home, Royals said.
The two were taken to the Limestone County Jail. Bond is set at $6,000 each.
