Two area men killed in Monday crash at Rogersville

— Two area men were killed Monday afternoon in a one-car wreck on Lauderdale County Road 26, also known as Snake Road.

A state trooper identified victims as Danny Wayne Martin, 31, of Rogersville, and Keith Kirby, 35, of Anderson.

The accident occurred at about 2:45 p.m. when the Kia Spectra driven by Martin left the road and struck a concrete culvert.

Neither man was wearing a seat belt, the trooper said.

Martin, who was formerly of Elkmont and worked at Frito Lay in Fayetteville, Tenn., is survived by his wife Cathy and their daughters, Summer and Savannah, and his mother, Frances Watkins of Elkmont. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home.

Kirby is survived by his wife Christy, children Karsin Kirby, Kaleb Kirby and Brianna Huggins, and his parents, Don and Judy Kirby. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Rogersville Funeral Home.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
