— An Athens man is facing a third-degree burglary charge for allegedly breaking into an outside building in the 200 block of Maple Street last month, an official said.

Police Chief Floyd Johnson said Athens Police arrested Clifford Dewayne Kyle, 36, of 1503 Wheeler St., Lot 5,on the charge Thursday.

On Dec. 19, 2013, the Police Department received a complaint about a break-in in which a thief stole extension cords, tool boxes, tools, a bike, two skill saws, an electric sander and a tent, Johnson said.

A neighbor told the victim they had seen Kyle around the building, the chief said.

Investigator Eric White was able to develop Kyle as the suspect in the case, Johnson said.

Kyle was booked at the Police Department and then transferred to the Limestone County Jail.
