Benefit planned Jan. 18 for wreck victim, Tanner grad

— A 23-year-old Limestone County woman has been upgraded from critical to fair condition, according to a Huntsville Hospital spokeswoman on Tuesday.

Jasmine Mosley, 23, spent about three weeks in the hospital’s Neuro Intensive Care Unit after being injured in a two-vehicle accident on Dec. 15 in Owens.

The 2010 Tanner High School graduate was recently moved from the NICU to a standard room, and has been able to “talk a little bit but she has not been able to walk yet,” said Shelia Mosley, Jasmine’s aunt. She is among several family members who spent much of the past three weeks maintaining a vigil in the NICU.

Because of the protracted hospital stay, friends and family are sponsoring a musical program to help defray medical expenses and the care of Jasmine’s infant daughter, Kairi.

The fundraiser will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 18, at Jacob’s Well Missionary Baptist Church on U.S. 31 in Tanner.

The fundraiser is open to choirs, praise dance teams, soloists, quartets, speakers and other participants.

For more information, call 256-874-3339. A benefit fund has also been set up in Jasmine’s name at Redstone Federal Credit Union in Athens.
