Weather permitting, sewer replacement work to continue Saturday on Hobbs Street in downtown Athens

ATHENS —

Depending on the rain, sewer replacement work on Hobbs Street will continue Saturday and will only require closing one eastbound lane.

Water/Wastewater Manager John Stockton also said one eastbound lane will be closed throughout next week.

If the contractor can complete this phase, work will move to South Street the week of Jan. 19, requiring South Street to be closed.
