Athens man steals from mom; returns item

— An Athens man was charged with third-degree domestic violence criminal trespassing and second-degree domestic violence burglary after he entered his mother’s home Tuesday and stole a 22-inch Vizio television.

Austin Gerard Brooks, 21, of 304 Welch Drive, allegedly broke into his mother’s home on McClint Street.

While officers were at the scene of the crime, Brooks brought the television back to his mother.

Brooks was transported to the Police Department where he was booked and then transferred to the Limestone County jail.
