U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala, will meet with constituents in Athens on Monday morning.
The meet-and-greet session will begin at 9:30 a.m. and be held at Athens City Hall, located on the second floor of the Athens Utilities building. The building is located at 1806 Wilkinson St.
Sen. Shelby will address the legislative agenda for the first session of the 113th Congress and important issues facing the nation and the state of Alabama. Following his remarks, Shelby will open the floor to questions and comments from those in attendance.
“Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activities of our government,” he said in a press release. “This will be a great chance to discuss the important issues facing our state and our nation.”
