UPDATE: Woman killed in collision with H'ville Police cruiser

— HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A Madison woman was killed early Tuesday morning after the vehicle she was driving collided head-on with a Huntsville Police cruiser on Interstate 565 in Limestone County.

Police said the woman, identified as 29-year-old Tabatha Rhodes of Madison, died at the scene. Published media reports indicate Rhodes was driving the wrong way when the crash happened at about 4 a.m.

The officer involved in the crash, Corey Harris, was reportedly treated at a hospital and released late Tuesday morning.

Eastbound lanes on the interstate had to be shut down because of the crash.
