Food bank giving away free sweet potatoes

— Athens-Limestone Emergency Food and Shelter in Tanner is distributing free sweet potatoes this week to anyone who would like some.

The food pantry received 502 bags of sweet potatoes from the Society of St. Andrew, and will be giving them away until gone.

No paperwork or proof of residency is required.

The shelter is located at 20086 Swanner Blvd., and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, and also open from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
