APD seeks public's help in identifying robbery suspect

ATHENS — Athens Police are seeking the public's help in finding a man accused of robbing the Raceway station on U.S. 72 Sunday.

Shortly before 4:30 a.m., police responded to a call of a robbery at the Raceway gas station on 72 East. The clerk told officers a black male wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, black jacket, white tennis shoes and dark sun glasses entered the store and demanded money. Although the offender indicated he had a pistol, the clerk did not see it. The offender left walking west.

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect. Call the Athens Police Department at 256-233-8700 if you believe you know this person.
