Garden club increases scholarship

— The Athens Garden Club recently announced its annual scholarship has been increased to $1,000.

The club offers its college scholarship program to graduating high school seniors in Limestone County who will major in horticulture, agriculture or other related fields.

Related fields of study include landscape design, landscape architecture, landscape technology, turf science and management, plant and crop production, historic garden restoration and management, and public garden management.

Scholarship applications must be postmarked by April 12. Applications are available through the counselor's office at any high school in Limestone County.
