Murder trials will be a staple in 2014

Timothy Hall – reckless murder

A Hartselle man accused of causing a wreck that killed a man from Toney will be tried in 2014.

Timothy Alan Hall, 30, of 1833 Woodmont St., is charged with reckless murder, driving under the influence and driving the wrong way in connection with the Aug. 19, 2012, death of 48-year-old Mark Henry Holt, records show. Authorities said at the time of the 4:30 a.m. wreck on Huntsville-Browns Ferry Road, Hall's 2011 Volkswagen Jetta struck Holt’s motorcycle. Holt was pronounced dead at the scene.

Huntsville Police spokesman Harry Hobbs said Hall was eastbound on Huntsville-Browns Ferry near Gray Road when he crossed the centerline and struck Holt’s westbound motorcycle. Hall was charged with murder due to the possible influence of alcohol and other controlled substances, Hobbs said.

Hall is free on a $26,500 bond.
