Official: Woman arrested for drugs, DUI had child in vehicle

— An Elkmont woman accused of having her child in her vehicle when she was arrested for driving under the influence and drug possession, is facing multiple charges, an official said.

Christina Lee Jarrett, 23, of 24207 Slate Road, was charged Saturday with endangering the welfare of a child, driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, records show.

Lt. Jay Stinnett said Monday Jarrett was arrested after an officer found cocaine, Xanex and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle, where her child was a passenger.

She was released from the Limestone County Jail after posting bail of $8,000, records show.
