3 days left to register to vote


To get aboard the voting train for the Nov. 6 presidential election, you must be registered to vote. If you are not, you can still do so until 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Board of Registrars office at the Clinton Street Courthouse Annex in Athens.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.

The last day to apply for an absentee ballot is Thursday, Nov. 1. For information on that, go to or call Limestone County Circuit Clerk Charles Page at 256-216-3875. His office is located on the first floor of the Limestone County Courthouse on Jefferson Street in Athens.
