Meth labs found at Ardmore motel

— Two neighbors living at an Ardmore motel were arrested Tuesday night for allegedly running methamphetamine labs in their respective rooms.

One of the suspects assaulted a law-enforcement officer.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Randy King said deputies arrested the two men — James Shay Hennessee, 29, of Budget Inn, Room 114, and Ronald “Tank” Anderson, 48, of Budget Inn, Room 115 — around 7 p.m.

“We had received complaints about someone cooking crystal meth at a local motel in Ardmore,” King said. “Hennessee was caught as he was leaving the motel. When the deputy asked him to step out (of his vehicle), Hennessee hit the deputy, knocking him back. The suspect then attempted to flee on foot.

“When they caught him, he struck another officer in the face before he was apprehended,” King said.

Hennessee was charged with first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, attempting to elude, second-degree assault and carrying a pistol without a permit, King said.

“The subject had crystal meth in his possession along with some Dilaudid (painkiller) pills,” King said. “Both had meth labs going in their rooms.”

Hennessee remained in the Limestone County Jail Wednesday with bail set at $62,000.

With Hennessee in custody, the deputies went to the motel and found Anderson, 48, of Budget Inn, Room 115, Ardmore. He was charged with first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, King said. Anderson remained in the Limestone County Jail Tuesday, with bail set at $57,000.
