Veterans museum to host annual Women’s History Month event

— The Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives in Athens will host its annual Women’s History Month celebration on Saturday, March 30.

The program will begin at 1 p.m. at the museum, which is located at 100 W. Pryor St. in Athens. Refreshments will be served.

The event will pay tribute to Mattye Murray, a Korean War veteran and retired teacher. Guest speaker will be Mary Scott Hunter, District 8 representative on the Alabama Board of Education. Hunter is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
