Harvest man charged in farm-equipment theft

A man accused of selling $1,650 worth of farm equipment is facing a theft charge for his part in the crime, an official said.

Labrontae Lamar Sales Jr., 21, of 16750 Wellhouse Drive, Harvest, was arrested April 18 on a charge of second-degree theft, Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said.

Sales was arrested for his part in the selling of a plow, box blade and cultivator stolen between Jan. 20 and Feb. 8 from Mooresville Road, Johnson said.

He was booked at the Police Department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail, where bail is set at $2,500, records show.
