Trailer catches fire; man faces drug charges

A Limestone County man was arrested on meth-related drug charges Tuesday after a deputy noticed a house trailer on fire.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, Deputy Nick Daniel was on routine patrol when he noticed the fire at 26827 Clem Road. When he pulled into the driveway, Daniel saw Randall Swafford Jr. pulling his mother, Debra Palvik, out of the residence.

Daniel went to help Swafford and, according to the news release, as he approached the residence he could smell the odor of a meth lab.

A search revealed a meth lab in the room where the fire started and chemicals used in making meth.

Swafford was charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia
