An Athens man was arrested Monday night by Athens Police on charges of suspicion of using a stolen credit card, second-degree theft of property and four counts of possession of a forged instrument, an official said.
Brian Ross McFarland, 26, of 15275 Clodessa Drive, was apprehended on warrants for illegal possession/use of a credit card. McFarland is accused of taking his father’s medication and his wallet, which contained cash and credit cards, on April 10, police said. Later, McFarland allegedly stole four checks from a storage shed he was cleaning out for a friend and cashed the checks at Hometown Grocery, police said.
McFarland was booked at Athens Police Department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail.
