Funeral set Sunday for Athens woman killed in Thursday’s wreck

3-vehicle accident also injures Ardmore student

— Funeral arrangements have been announced for an Athens woman killed in Thursday’s three-vehicle accident on Alabama 251 near Holt Road.

The funeral for Brenda Gail Eubanks, 60, is 2 p.m. Sunday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Athens City Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

State trooper records show that the wreck occurred about 6:10 p.m. four miles north of Athens, after passing showers soaked local roadways Thursday afternoon.

A 2005 Chevrolet Impala driven by Eubanks collided head-on with a 2001 Chevrolet 1500 driven by Garett Miller, 17, of Toney, according to Curtis Summerville, a spokesman for the Alabama State Troopers Office in Huntsville.

Eubanks was pronounced dead at the scene by the Limestone County Coroner’s Office, said Corner Mike West.

Miller, a junior at Ardmore High School, was taken to Athens-Limestone Hospital where he was treated and released, said a hospital spokeswoman.

A 2005 Kia Sedona driven by Jennifer Breland, 40, of Ardmore, also was involved in the crash but not injured, according to Summerville.

The accident, which resulted in Limestone’s fourth roadway fatality in less than three weeks, remains under investigation by troopers.
