Madison deputies searching for McDonald’s robber

From staff reports

— Madison County Sheriff’s officials are still searching for an armed, masked man accused of robbing the McDonald’s restaurant on Alabama 53 in Harvest early Tuesday morning.

Two employees were cleaning up before closing when the robbery occurred. One of the two workers had gone outside just after 1 a.m. when a man wearing a mask and holding a gun forced the employee back into the restaurant and ordered the employee to open the safe. With an undisclosed amount of money in hand, the gunman fled northbound on foot.

A K-9 unit tracked the suspect north but lost the scent.

Deputies are reviewing the surveillance camera to try to identify the robber.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the Madison County Sheriff’s Department at 256-722-7181.
