The Limestone County circuit and district courts will be closed from Monday, May 26, through Monday, June 2, in order to move the court system to a new location while the courthouse is being renovated.
Presiding Circuit Judge Jimmy Woodroof Jr. said Friday the new, temporary, site will be at 503 S. Jefferson St. in Athens, in the former Better Living Patio Rooms building. Court will resume Tuesday, June 3, in the new facility.
Circuit clerk’s office
The circuit court clerk’s office also will be moving to its new, temporary location — the second floor of the Limestone County Water Authority at 520 S. Jefferson St. in Athens. Employees will be moving from Wednesday, June 4, through Friday, June 6.
District attorney’s office
The Limestone County District Attorney’s Office will move to its new location — the Limestone County District Attorney Community Prosecution Center at 104 E. Washington St. in Athens, directly across the street from the Clinton Street Courthouse Annex. The District Attorney’s Office will be closed from Monday, May 26, through Monday, June 2. The office will reopen at its new location Tuesday, June 3.
