Athens police believe they have solved a burglary that occurred Wednesday night in the 900 block of North Jefferson Street, an official said today.
Capt. Trevor Harris said a citizen reported the burglary to police Thursday morning, saying someone broke into his storage shed and stole numerous items, Harris said.
Investigators developed Bose Heard Jr., 60, of 107 Fifth Ave., Athens, as a suspect, Harris said.
“When detectives went to speak with Heard at his residence, many of the stolen items were found outside in plain view,” Harris said. “Other stolen property was later located inside his residence.”
All of the property listed on the burglary report was recovered at the Heard residence, Harris said.
Heard, who is charged with one count of third-degree burglary, was being held in the Limestone County Jail, with bail set at $2,500, records show.
