ASU Community Band Christmas concert scheduled Dec. 9

ATHENS — Athens State University Community Band, under the direction of Dan Havely, is gearing up for its annual Christmas concert.

The free concert will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, in the Carter Gymnasium on Pryor Street on the northern border of campus in Athens. A reception, hosted by ASU Alumni Association and the Athens-Limestone Hospital, will be held in the gym following the performance.

“The Community Band’s Christmas Concert kicks off the holiday season for so many people,” said ASU spokesman Guy McClure. “We’re pleased to have the Athens-Limestone Hospital joining with the alumni association this year to sponsor the post-concert reception in the gym. We’re looking forward to a great crowd.”

The series is sponsored by the Livingston Concert Lecture Series.
