— Before the Limestone County Board of Education tackled its full agenda Tuesday, the Tanner High School football team received multiple resolutions for winning its second straight Class 2A football championship.

Each member of the Rattlers, who went 13-1 overall and 12-0 against 2A competition, received a certificate and shook hands with all seven board members and the superintendent.

Head coach Laron White was highlighted for compiling a 118-22 record in 11 seasons and receiving local Coach of the Year honors.

All-State defensive lineman Baltazar “Tito” Rubio (six sacks, 26 tackles for a loss, 67 tackles), offensive lineman Seth Smith (team leader in pancake blocks) and running back Hayden Stephens (2,142 rushing yards, 28 rush TDs) also received individual resolutions for their achievements.

Since 2010, the Ratters have compiled a 52-3 record, with two state championships, three North Division trophies and four region titles.
