— The former director of the Limestone County Career Technical Center is facing two new charges in connection with an ongoing theft case involving missing equipment from the school.

Mickey Charles Glass, 41, of 25402 Hays Mill Road in Elkmont, was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday at the Limestone County Jail.

Glass is charged with single counts of first-degree theft of property and second-degree possession of a forged instrument.

Jail records show he posted $7,500 bail at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Glass also was charged Dec. 16 with first-degree theft of property after being accused of taking Career Tech equipment valued at $7,559.

The Limestone County Board of Education has fired Glass as a school administrator but he remains a tenured employee due to state law, according to Limestone Superintendent Dr. Tom Sisk.

Sisk said another board meeting would be required in order to terminate Glass's current status as a school employee.

District Attorney Brian Jones said the charges would be presented to the next Limestone County grand jury, which is expected to convene by late spring.
