A man accused of cashing a forged check at an Athens cellphone business is now facing a forgery charge, an official said.
Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said that on Jan. 24, Kevaun Roosevelt Turner, 22, of 2120 Aretha Street, Athens, allegedly cashed a forged check for $948.17 at Cell Touch on South Jefferson Street.
Sgt. Johnny Campbell investigated the case and obtained a warrant for Turner’s arrest for second-degree possession of a forged Instrument, Johnson said.
Turner was arrested on the charge Tuesday night, booked at the Police Department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail.
