Limestone County Schools has created seven new positions in a system with approximately 1,100 employees and more than 9,100 students.
The board-approved positions are child nutrition program secretary/bookkeeper at the Central Office, secretary/receptionist for East Limestone High School and five elementary teaching units.
The state-funded teaching units are designated for Cedar Hill Elementary School and Owens Elementary School, and the CNP position will be paid by federal funds.
The school system currently has 38 jobs posted, including 29 teaching positions. The positions, which are listed for two weeks, will close June 19.
Among the nine non-teaching openings are special education teacher at West Limestone High School, assistant principal at Ardmore High School and CNP manager at Tanner High School.
West Limestone is filling a special education vacancy that has a salary range of $36,144 to $48,734 based on experience and degree level.
The Ardmore job, which pays $57,554 to $79,618 based on experience and degree level, became vacant when assistant principal Brad Lewis was approved June 4 as the new principal at Johnson Elementary.
Tanner is seeking a new CNP manager to replace Edith Birdwell, who retired May 30. The lunchroom manager job ranges from $18,000 to $24,000 based on experience.
The Limestone County Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at the Clinton Street annex.
