City and county law enforcement officials worked together Tuesday to seize methamphetamine and make two arrests on Zehner Road.
Limestone County Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Stinnett said officers noticed the smell of meth cooking when they went to the home of Marty Ray Hall, 40, of 16894 Zehner Road in Athens. There they found Hall and James Lynn Johnson Jr., 26, of 21787 Nelson Road in Elkmont, allegedly manufacturing meth, Stinnett said. Officers also found some of the manufactured stimulant and precursors that could be used for making the drug, the lieutenant said.
Both men were arrested on charges of first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The two remained in the Limestone County Jail Wednesday, with bail set at $56,000 each, records show.
