Elkmont man dies in Friday crash

— A single-vehicle crash at 7:50 p.m. Friday claimed the life of an Elkmont man, according to a state trooper report.  The crash occurred on Cross Key Road, four miles north of Athens.

Glen Eugene Jacobs Jr., 26, was killed when the 2006 Chevrolet pickup he was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned.

Jacobs, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
