Wind gusts of up to 35 mph expected across Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Wind gusts of up to 35 mph are expected in much of Alabama as a cold front sweeps across the region.

The National Weather Service said a wind advisory covering all of northern and central Alabama and portions of south Alabama would be in effect until Wednesday evening.

Forecasters say the strong winds could bring down large tree limbs and power lines and make driving difficult. Also, unsecured objects such as patio furniture and trash cans could be blown around.
