County school board buys bucket truck

By Kim West

— The Limestone County Board of Education unanimously approved buying a used $30,000 bucket truck from Athens Utilities Thursday morning during a special called meeting.

The bucket truck, a 2006 model with 62,633 miles, will be used to replace lighting at school buildings, stadiums, parking lots and playing fields, and to remove or trim tree limbs.

The truck measures 55 feet from the bottom to the full extension of the bucket, and will be added to the maintenance department fleet as soon as the purchase is finalized.
