County hears proposal for Carpenter Technology sewer

— The Limestone County Commission held a public hearing during its Tuesday regular meeting to discuss using grant funding for a $933,000 sewage pipeline for Carpenter Technology Corporation.

General Manager Byron Cook of the Limestone County Water and Sewer Authority gave a brief overview of the proposed project to construct a sewer main, or a principal pipe, for the $500 million, 400,000-square foot CTC steel manufacturing plant in Tanner.

The proposed sewer main, which will be completed by this fall, will be at a 24-foot depth and 2,500 feet in length running from the southwest corner of the 230-acre CTC property, down the center of Sandy Road and to the manhole that will go into a former Delphi lift station, Cook said.
