UPDATE: 1 injured in U.S. 31 wreck listed 'good'

ATHENS — An Athens woman, Carolyn Dobbins, who was injured in a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of U.S. 31 and Forrest Street at 11:35 a.m. today, is listed in good condition at Huntsville Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Dobbins was driving a Ford Ranger when it collided with Honda Civic in the intersection. Dobbins'  truck turned on its side and Athens Fire & Rescue had to cut her from her vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Traffic was initially shut down on U.S. 31 near the wreck to allow a  MedFlight helicopter to land on the highway. However, the helicopter was later canceled and the victim transported by ambulance.
