Assistant principal placed on paid leave

— Limestone school Superintendent Dr. Tom Sisk confirmed that he has placed an assistant principal on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation by a forensic auditor.

Sisk said Kevin Davis, assistant principal and athletic director at Clements High School, has been on leave since Feb. 14.

It is the superintendent’s policy to place a school employee on leave during an investigation as a precautionary measure.

Sisk, who cited legal counsel advising him not to go into specifics, would not say why Davis is under investigation. However, he said Davis is not suspected of any student-related policy violations.

“This has nothing to do with student safety or misconduct involving students,” Sisk said.

A forensic auditor by definition investigates financial records but the superintendent did not specify which records are being reviewed at Clements.

Davis, who earns $58,993 in salary, is a non-tenured employee and was hired as Clements assistant principal on July 11, 2012, according to public records.
