BREAKING: Limestone under severe thunderstorm warning until 1:15 p.m.

— A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for southwestern Limestone County until 1:15 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville.

The storm was spotted at 12:14 p.m. near Courtland and was moving northeast at 45 mph. Locations impacted include Athens, North Courtland and Hillsboro.

The storm could produce winds in excess of 60 mph, hail, deadly lightning and heavy rain. Residents are urged to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a home or business and do not drive into areas where water covers the road.
