From staff reports
Much of North Alabama, including Limestone, Madison and Morgan counties, will experience a mix of snow and sleet tonight and into early Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville.
A quick moving upper level disturbance will bring the wintry mix to the Tennessee Valley this evening. The precipitation is expected to transition to all snow after midnight.
Light accumulations of less than one-half inch are possible, though mainly on grassy surfaces. The highest amounts are expected to occur southwest of Muscle Shoals.
Temperatures are also expected to drop during the overnight hours, which could lead to icing on roads and bridges. The snow is expected to transition to rain by Friday morning.
