— A newly formed task force has been charged with ramping up recruiting efforts but the goal isn’t to reel in a five-star quarterback or a blue-chip point guard.

Instead, the Diversity Taskforce is charged with increasing the hiring pool of qualified teaching applicants for Limestone County Schools.

The group met March 18 at the Central Office for a two-hour organizational meeting to discuss objectives and ways to expand teacher recruitment. The next meeting will be April 9 to finalize mission, goals and belief statements.

Purpose of task force

“This taskforce is committed to our community to … go out and recruit the best people we can find,” said Superintendent Dr. Tom Sisk, who formed the voluntary team with Zebbra Green, executive director of human resources.
